John is best known for his figurative
and gently surreal paintings of coastal scenes and people.
Capturing his favorite subjects, the lovers and dreamers of the coast, he applies his curious and sometimes whimsical twist, taking the viewer on their own magical journey.

"I challenge myself to do what is hard or even scary, and push myself into new subjects and arraingements of things that inspire me. To me, a painting is successful when it gets a viewer to stop, take a closer look, and then smile."
